A charming vintage Indian hand-painted wooden jewelry box or miniature storage cabinet featuring richly detailed floral and geometric decoration in deep red, mustard gold, black, blue, and cream tones.
The box has a wonderful architectural form, resembling a miniature cabinet or chest. The hinged front panel opens downward to reveal three individual storage drawers—one full-width drawer on top and two smaller drawers below. Each drawer is decorated with painted borders and fitted with small brass pulls. The cabinet closes with a decorative brass latch on the front.
The exterior is beautifully painted on the top, front, sides, and back with repeating floral and geometric motifs. The warm, slightly faded colors, surface wear, and aged patina give the piece an authentic vintage character and make it especially appealing as a decorative object.
